Apply templates

If you have the Viewer or Designer role plus the Architect role and the Project room management function privilege, you can apply templates to model types. If a model of this type is created or imported from ARIS Express, the applied template is used automatically.

To open the Assigned templates page, click Application launcher Application launcher > Administration Administration > Conventions > Applied templates.

If you get a message that model types are currently not available, this indicates that other licenses with additional elements are available in ARIS Advanced Architect. However, you can use the templates in ARIS Advanced as well as in ARIS Advanced Architect. But you can only apply templates to certain model types in ARIS Advanced Architect.

Use the buttons and links on this page to start the required action. If you start an action, the breadcrumbs can take you back to the required page.

You can do the following:

Edit template assignment

You can change the template that is currently applied to the model type.

  1. Click Application launcher Application launcher > Administration Administration.

  2. Click Conventions.

  3. Click Applied templates.

  4. Select the model type.

  5. Click Edit Edit.

  6. Select the template.

  7. Click Save.

The selected template is applied to the model type. If users create models of this type, this template is used. Models that were created before you changed the assignment are not affected.

Delete mapping

You can delete the model type from the list so that no template will be applied in the future.

  1. Click Application launcher Application launcher > Administration Administration.

  2. Click Conventions.

  3. Click Applied templates.

  4. Select the model type.

  5. Click Delete Delete.

  6. Click Delete to confirm.

The model type no longer uses a template.
