Objects
You can specify which objects to display and model in ARIS Advanced. You can specify that certain object types must be newly created on definition level. These objects are displayed after placing them on the Properties tab (satellite modeling).
Prerequisite
You have the Designer role and the Project room management privilege.
You have created a set of content types.
You can add object content types to a set of content types.
Click the content type set you want to edit.
In the Objects section, click
Create content type. The dialog opens.Enter the technical name of the new content type as an identifier, for example, capability.
For each language, enter the name of the element that it is to be displayed. At least one language must be maintained. If you do not specify a path, the fallback path is used.
Click
Add object type. The dialog opens.Click the object types that you want to add. You can filter the list by typing the first letters of the object type you want to add.
Click Close.
Optional: If you want to restrict the objects by an attribute value, in the Attributes row, click the
arrow.If you have created multiple object content types of the same object type, you must restrict the object either by an attribute value or a symbol, or both. Otherwise, you get an error notification. The behavior of these object content types is undefined.
Start typing the attribute name you want to exclude. The matching attributes are displayed.
Select the attribute that you want to exclude and specify the value and language.
Optional: Enable Symbol type restrictions. If you enable Symbol type restrictions, you can restrict the object types to specific symbols. You can enable that only the selected symbol is used or that all other symbols are used.
You can add and remove symbols.
If you have created multiple object content types of the same object type, you must restrict the object either by an attribute value or a symbol, or both. Otherwise, you get an error notification. The behavior of these object content types is undefined.
Click Save.
You have added an object content type.
For more information about the content types, click Information.
You can add derived symbols to relation properties, which are already restricted by symbols.
Click the content type set you want to edit.
In the Objects section, click
More.Select
Add derived symbols. The dialog opens.All relation properties are searched for derived symbols. All derived symbols are displayed that are available for symbols configured as filter for the relation property.
Select the derived symbols you want to add or select all.
Click Add to properties.
The derived symbols are added and you can use them when adding object content types.
The derived symbols are added according to the configuration of the original symbol. This could be as a filter on Published content or as a symbol for creation when editing models and a symbol for contribution.
You can edit the object content types of a set of content types.
Click the content type set you want to edit.
Click the
arrow next to Objects.In the row of the relevant object content type, click
Details.
Click
Edit to change the identifier.
Click
Add object type. The dialog opens.Click the object types that you want to add. You can filter the list by typing the first letters of the object type you want to add.
Click Close.

You have added an object content type.

You can remove object types from an object content type.
Click the content type set you want to edit.
Click the
arrow next to Objects.In the row of the relevant object content type, click
Details. The dialog opens.
In the row of the relevant object type, click
Delete. If the object content type is referenced by at least one relation property, a dialog that lists all these properties is displayed. If you delete the object content type, the properties are adapted and the references are deleted.Click Save.
The object type is removed from the object content type.
You can delete the object content types.
Click the content type set you want to edit.
Click the
arrow next to Objects.In the row of the relevant object, click
Delete. The dialog opens.Click Delete to confirm. A message is displayed if the object type has relations.
You have deleted the object content type.
